clear title car at IAAI and copart salvage auctions?

Question by Il Capitano: clear title car at IAAI and copart salvage auctions?
at these car auctions most of the cars have heavy damage and salvage titles. but sometimes there are ones with not so bad damage and clean titles. i bought a volkswagen clear title at IAAI auction and after a few months i discovered a transmission issue..

do all the clean title cars at these auctions have major problems? some have for example some light collision damage but why wouldnt that owner of the car get it fixed themselves if it wasnt bad? how does it work does the insurance company pay them for a car thats not even totalled? should i be scared to buy a clear title car at these auctions if they have light collision damage?

“Clear title” means, no leinholder. It does NOT mean, no prior salvage title.

Most of these auctions are going to be repo cars, or total losses. Those cars with very light collision damage, got in the accident, the owner cashed the check without getting the repair done, and then the car got repo’d. Many of the repo’d cars, haven’t had regular maintenance on them – hence OTHER problems that crop up pretty quickly.

at most of these auctions you are on your own/its what the auctioneer says/you buy it and you own it/cant give it back if it blows up in the parking lot/should go with me when i buy them and i dont even start them or drive them/they are lined up and the auctioneer travels to each one in a row and you bid from standing there//cant have feint heart
