how damaged is too damaged to drive?
I was in an auto accident today (not my fault) and as a result my rear driver’s side door is crunched in. the car has been driving find, and there’s no damage to the interior. The door that was damaged requires a little extra effort to close but it does latch shut. I’m planning on doing a long trip on the highway this weekend (200 miles there, 200 back) and was wondering if it would be legal to drive the car in this condition.
Thanks!

I don’t think you should encounter any problems – but I wouldn’t let anyone ride in the rear for obvious reasons.
The integrity of that door and latch is questionable at best.
Is the wheel well effected at all? If it is jsut door damage you should be fine.
Get it checked by a mechanic. The claims people should insist on it in any case, and at that time you can ask if it’s safe to drive.
