A great portion of the nation must handle snow covered roads and icy conditions.  More than seventy percent of the nation experiences snowfall at some point during the year.  These areas see an average of five inches of snow.  The majority of the United State’s population is driving on these roads.  That can lead to a lot of automobile accidents.  The snow and ice that develops on these roads greatly diminishes the friction that tires need to help strengthen a car’s ability to maneuver on the road.

The snowfall can also decrease visibility while driving.  It is a good idea to slower one’s speed while driving under these conditions.  On average, it is best to slow your vehicle down by thirty to forty miles per hour depending on the speed limit in the area you are driving.  This is to help reduce the risk of crashes.  A slower vehicle is an easier vehicle to control.

Even though these precautions may be taken, around twenty percent of accidents occur in snowy weather.  There are over 100,000 people each year that are injured in auto accidents caused by icy and snowy conditions.  The maintenance of these roads average a cost of 20 percent of the money spent to fix road conditions.  Those who are required to drive on these roads should always consider a lawyer to help in the event of an accident.  With the risk being so high, it would almost be detrimental to not have an idea of a lawyer that can help in a time of need.

Lawyers understand these conditions and the danger they possess.  They are willing to help with any questions and problems one may have in the even of an accident.  Weather conditions are not the only cause of accidents, but they can increase the risk dramatically.  One should always take the proper precautions, but should also understand that that won’t always prevent an accident from occurring.
