Question by yurigo: What is the best solution for a damaged car by accident?
I had a car accident last week. It wasn’t my fault at all and other party’s insurance company will pay for the cost of my car repair. My car is a 10yrs old and has 200000miles on it. I still can drive the car after the accident but need body repair badly. The estimate of car repair will exceed the value of my car. I was planning to drive my car at least another 1 yr or so since I don’t have a job right now. Does other party’s insurance company pay only the amount of my car’s market value since repair cost might exceed the car value? If that’s the case, will I be forced to purchase a new/used car? Since I don’t have a job right now, I don’t think I can be qualified for a car loan and I prefer not to have any car loan at this time. What is the best way to solve this problem? No illegal advice please.

They usually offer market value. & take the car. You could make an offer on it, which they might accept. then it would be yours again to do as you please with. Ask them what they will do with it-they will possibly give it back to you???????
